A Million Pound Vision for Afghanistan
Masha'Allah, a donor recently contacted 成品视频 to begin the groundwork for the largest Special Programmes Project in 成品视频 history. Pledging a staggering one million pounds in financial support, this donor鈥檚 special project aims to provide clean drinking water to the population of Afghanistan. The vision is to lay the foundations for the first step in bringing Afghanistan out of poverty. Young, old, male and female 鈥� everyone will benefit in sha' Allah. The project is expected to take approximately five years to complete, with the hope that by 2025, Afghanistan will start to break free from the cycle of poverty through its new-found blessings.
Afghanistan is currently one of the poorest countries in the world听and only 23% of the population have access to clean safe drinking water.* In the UK, a plentiful supply of clean safe water to drink is something that many of us take for granted, yet for people听in Afghanistan, the reality is sadly quite the opposite. Without clean water, people听remain at risk of water-borne diseases and dehydration, farmers cannot maintain a stable livelihood and families struggle with everyday activities such as washing, making wudu and cooking.
Providing others with a clean, safe supply of water is an incredibly worthy act of charity. Prophet Muhammad (saw) said:听'The best charity is giving water to drink.'听(Ahmad). The provision of clean water will allow crops, fruit, vegetables, goats, chickens and sheep to flourish, thereby empowering the people of Afghanistan to break free of the chains of poverty.
Our generous brother is dedicating the construction of such wells in memory of our noble听Final Messenger of God, Prophet Muhammad (saw). As Allah (swt) says in the Holy Qur鈥檃n:听'Indeed Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet. O believers, call for Allah's blessings on him and salute him with all respect.'听(33:56) All the recipients in Afghanistan from this special project will receive this amazing news before wells are built in their communities. In sha' Allah, the project will bring happiness and joy to these families.
Whilst our anonymous donor has agreed to fund the entire project from start to completion with a base cost of 拢1,000,000, members of the public can also contribute any amount within their means. This could include donating one of many forms of Sadaqah Jariyah, for example farming tools and seeds and livestock such as chickens, goats, cows and sheep. Such support will allow families to maximise the use of their new water supply to become self-sufficient.
